About Me

I have been doing this for a long time. Long before there was a name for it. Recording myself on a laptop, writing about products on a blog, staying up watching YouTube videos when beauty content was still finding its feet. Affordable, luxury, drugstore, whatever I could get my hands on. If I hear about it, I wanted to try it and talk about it.
That has never changed. I just have better lighting now.
My name is Efemena, I’m Nigerian, live in Germany, and I’m a mother of three daughters who are very much grown and will tell you themselves that I talk about skincare too much. I’ve been sharing beauty knowledge for years.
My skin is oily and acne-prone and dark, so when something works on me, it really works. When it does not, I’ll tell you that too. When I recommend something it is because I have tried it, paid for it myself most of the time, and it genuinely worked or genuinely did not.
But this has grown into something more than product reviews, because somewhere along the way I realised that no cream was going to fix what was actually going on. That beauty for women like us, Black women, women in their forties and above, women who have moved countries and are rebuilding themselves, can talk about beauty the way it actually feels to live in our skin.
So that is what this is now. My product experiences and my personal reflections.
Oh and by the way, I’m not here as an expert, I’m here as someone who gets it.
